Silmo, Paris – Kirk & Kirk launch Centena

Silmo is the most important event in the optical calendar. Once a year, a thousand optical companies gather in Paris to show the latest and greatest in optics.

For Kirk & Kirk, this show is where we launch our new collections and this year, to celebrate one hundred years of the Kirk family in optics, we are presenting something very special; Centena.

Centena is the Spanish word for ‘one hundred’ and Jason and Karen Kirk have absorbed a century of optical heritage to produce an innovative collection which, we hope, would have made Sidney and Percy Kirk proud.

Centena is the first eyewear to be handmade from 10mm acrylic. Each frame is produced in France, from start to finish, using artisanal craftsmanship, the traditional way.

Most frames that you will come across are made in 6mm acetate. Kirk & Kirk Kaleidoscope and Spectrum collections are hand-crafted in 8mm acrylic and Centena is unique in that it is honed from 10mm sheets. The beauty …….one of the beauties…….of acrylic is that it weighs nothing so, despite the volume of the glasses, they are exceptionally comfortable to wear.

There are ten shapes, each named after a member of the Kirk family, and ten gorgeous colours.

If you would like to see the collection at Silmo, then please send us an E-mail for an appointment in Hall 5 M145.

The Centena Collection will be available worldwide at the best independent optical stores from the beginning of November and if you want to stay ahead of the game with launch information, please join our mailing list.
