Digital trade show myvisionshow.com takes place from Thursday 25th March – Sunday 28th March and Kirk & Kirk will be there.
Jason Kirk will be giving a talk on Saturday evening (8pm EST) about what it means to be an independent optician and there will be a chance to sit down and take a look at the collection or simply just meet up for a virtual vino and discuss the shape of the world.
The flurry of major trade shows that take place at the beginning of the year have all been cancelled – Mido, 100% Optical, Loft Eyewear Show – with Mido and 100% Optical announcing that they will be holding a digital event in June and postponing the next physical show.
It will be interesting to see how the profession responds to these events. Most of us miss the intimacy of getting together with our friends and colleagues but we have also spent a year adapting to new solutions.
myvisionshow.com should be a great event. The organisers have been creating virtual trade shows for some time now and have the experience to make this a success. It is not just an opportunity to see products but it is also a chance to meet and to discuss the challenges facing our industry.
The independent sector of optics is a minnow compared to the big corporates that dominate our industry but it has strength in its quality. There is an entrepreneurial spirit that challenges by its very nature and now is a unique opportunity for the small players to find strength in unity.
Whether you are an independent brand, a store, lens cloth supplier, a contact lens manufacturer…….whatever your sector, if you are an independent, we urge you to register for the show at myvisionshow.com and discuss the way forward with like-minded optical folk.

See you there!
